GUIDELINES RE BRINGING A DOG TO CANUTE COTTAGES

You may bring a well behaved dog over 1 yr old  to Canute Cottages, for which we require a £50 security cheque (which will be destroyed shortly after your visit unless there is damage or extra cleaning resulting from your pet, in which case you will be notified) and that you keep to this agreement:

1.      Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the sofas or any other soft furniture.  Do bring with you sufficient towels and rugs to dry and clean your pet and to protect carpets etc. Dog hair gets everywhere so you will need to bring a comb and comb daily if your dog is hairy/moulting, and clean and vacuum thoroughly before you leave.  Any damage, stains etc must be paid for in full.

2.      Dogs may only be left on their own in the cottages if they are quiet and settled, and for short periods only.

3.      Dogs that bark unduly, are aggressive to people or other animals or cause a nuisance or distress to other guests, are not welcome.

4.      Great care needs to be taken to ensure that there is no dog mess around the cottages and neighbouring area – do use the shovel by the laundry room.   Throughout Cobnor, ensure that dog mess is removed and binned.  There is a special bin by the footpath near the dinghy park that you can use.

5.      We ask you to keep your dog under control at all times. In the courtyard this means keeping it on a lead unless it is quiet and stays by your side. It is essential that your dog is properly controlled near the sheep, particularly when there are lambs.  If your dog is not 100% reliable, this means keeping it on a lead anywhere near sheep.

6.      We have a wonderful array of birdlife at Cobnor and are involved in conservation work to encourage certain species of ground-nesting birds.  In the breeding season (April to July) please keep your dog well-controlled, and on a lead through the wooded areas.

7.      Please ensure that your dog has been properly treated for fleas/worms before you arrive!

Finally, most dogs visiting Cobnor are beautifully behaved, have a wonderful time and bring pleasure to us all, and we hope you and your dog have a great holiday here!
